Shipping and receiving clerk

New Jersey, US

Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse supervisor reports to the assistant plant manager and works independently within the scope of authority described in policies, procedures and practices that govern these activities.  As he is the first person, who sees the incoming merchandise and the last person who sees the merchandise loaded and taken away he is an important part of the food safety team and serves as the primary inspector of the conditions of the inbound and outbound carriers.

  • Under the guidance of the plant manager and following appropriate policies, procedures and practices, conducts shipping, receiving and warehousing of merchandise and supervises the activities of forklift drivers and employees assigned to material handling tasks.
  • Conducts the inspection of the carriers and notifies the plant manager, his assistants, or Quality assurance of any deficiencies which, in his judgment, render the carrier unfit to transport of food products.
  • Assembles and prepares outbound shipments in accordance with Shipping Procedures (detailed in pre-requisites programs) 
  • Receives merchandise, supplies and services in accordance with Receiving Procedures(detailed in pre-requisites programs)
  • Maintains storage of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods in accordance with Warehousing Procedures (detailed in pre-requisites programs)
  • Assists Quality Control in collection of samples, when requested.
  • Issues materials to production as directed by the plant manager and as requisitioned by line supervisors and senior operators.
  • Maintains records pertinent to above activities.
  • Keeps plant manager and the assistants plant manager informed regarding above activities.
  • Provides the assistant plant manager with data required for the maintenance of accurate inventory records.
  • Participates in product recall (or mock exercises of recall) 
  • At the end of each business day returns to the traffic clerk all outbound bills of lading and delivers to the assistant plant manager all paperwork relating to the receipt of merchandise and supplies
  • Provides on – the – job training and instructions to the material handlers assigned to him and supervises their activities.

In absence of quality control person, he will collect deliver to the plant manager’s office samples ofbulk materials that are tested by an in – house laboratory.

During his absence, plant manager will assign one of his assistants to supervise the work of material handlers and to carry out the tasks normally performed by this supervisor.  If that is not feasible, the plant manager will assign one of the senior operator who supervises the assembly and preparation of orders to supplement the shipping/receiving team.  Quality Assurance or Quality Control persons will be requested to conduct carrier inspection and examine the inbound products in accordance with applicable procedures.

Person or persons substituting for the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse supervisor are required to maintain and submit all of the records and paperwork that this supervisor would.

 

Maitenance Mechanic

New Jersey, US

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support (automated) packaging lines to allow for efficient and safe packaging of quality food products by strictly adhering to GMPs, OSHA and company’s SOPs.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electronic packaging, milling and blending equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and programming of PLCs, hydraulic and pneumatic as well as lock out/tag out
  • Partner with other mechanics, Line Leaders and operators to ensure understanding of operational issues and corrective actions to be taken while minimizing production down time.
  • Perform Line change overs, Set up, Start up, and complete all applicable documentation.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance including unplanned/emergency repairs.
  • Support Manufacturing, Engineering and Product Development departments with ongoing and new projects and their validations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on maintenance high-speed industry.
  • Experience with over Wrappers, Labeling and high-speed packaging/powder filling equipment.
  • Excellent abilities and experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability and experience in reading schematics to troubleshoot.
  • Must have high speed packaging experience in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, consumer goods, or medical device industries.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of GMPs, SOPs, Lock Out Tag Out, GFSI, and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), automated and Vision systems (A Plus)
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish A Plus.

Pay: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour
